If you have a favourite area of the museum, please tell us and we will try to place you there.
We offer work experience in several areas:
Engagement
Wearing period costume and helping to engage with our visitors.
Learning
Assisting with development and delivery of activities for schools and families.
Research
Opportunities are sometimes available in our research team for university students (degree, MA and PHD).
Work experience at Beamish really helped my personal skills… communicating with visitors was less stressful as I imagined, people were happy and shared their stories with me. I found people opening up about their own lives quite sweet as well. I have also learnt how to better adapt to situations, and I have learnt how to figure things out while under pressure (like rushes on the weekends, haha).
